Seahawks And 49ers Going In Opposite Directions
Huge game today in Philadelpia as the Seattle Seahawks roll into town and shut down Chip Kelly’s powerful offense.
The Seahawks’ defense is starting to look like it did in their 2013 Super Bowl run. They are getting healthy and appear to be peaking at the right time. The NFL experts say the Hawks recent defensive explosision is due to the fact that Kam Chancellor and Bobby Wagner are now healthy and are playing some smash mouth football.
The Eagles came into this game as one of the best offenses in the NFL. Seattle held them to 14 points and picked off Mark Sanchez twice as the Hawks won 24-14 to move to 9-4. They still remain one game behind 10-3 Arizona, who beat Kansas City today 17-14. The Cardinals and Seahawks will meet in Arizona in two weeks.
The Seahawks offense looked pretty good today as well. Russell Wilson played superb
with no mistakes. Wilson passed for 263 yards with two touchdowns. One to a wide open
Marshawn Lynch and another one to Doug Baldwin.
Should be a fun next three weeks for the NFC West. The Seahawks play the 49ers at home next Sunday followed by their game in Arizona. They will then end their regular season at home against the St. Louis Rams.
Meanwhile the San Francisco 49ers went into Oakland today and laid a huge egg as they lose to the lowly Raiders 24-13. The Niners fell to 7-6 and are in a downward spiral.
There is even talk that coach Jim Harbaugh is done after this season. Rumors have him going to Oakland to coach the Raiders or returning to the college game. One thing for sure, Harbaugh has had a solid 4 seasons as head coach of the 49ers. He lead them to three NFC Championship games and one Super Bowl appearance.
Niner’s quarterback Colin Kaepernick has played awful during San Francisco’s struggles. They signed this dude to a huge contract in the off season and he has really degressed. Any Niners’ fans missing Alex Smith yet?
The only hope now for the 49ers is to somehow go into Seattle and try to spoil the
Seahawks’ playoff chances with a win. But that will be unlikely with the way the
Niners are playing. Plus, CenturyLink Field has been a house of horrors for San
