The Seattle Seahawks and the 12th man will play their hated rivals, the San Francisco 49ers for a trip to Super Bowl 48. The 49ers have done it the hard way as they got into the 2013 NFL playoffs as the Wild Card. The Niners traveled to a cold, freezing Green Bay and beat the Packers. They then traveled to Carolina and ended the Panthers season, 23-10.
Meanwhile the Seattle Seahawks won the NFC West and got a first round bye. The Hawks hosted the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Divisional game and won, 23-15. It was a close game as the Saints played the Seahawks tough. Russell Wilson looked less than stellar and has struggled down the stretch of the season. Marshawn Lynch won the game for Seattle as he rushed for 140 yards.
Now the war begins as the Niners invade Century Link Field. This could be a blood bath as both teams will be pounding each other up and down the field. Colin Kaepernick has been putrid in Seattle and the Hawks have dominated lately at home.
But I anticipate a very close game this time around. The Hawks will not blowout the 49ers this time. Why? Because San Francisco is fully loaded on offense. They have Michael Crabtree back and he makes such a huge difference for Kaepernick. Crabtree’s presense opens it up for Vernon Davis and Anquan Boldin. But! The Niners will be facing the NFL’s number one defense. Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas and the boys won’t be an easy task!!
This game could come down to the last seconds of the 4th quarter and it will be a war! I can’t wait for this game to start!!
